Acceptable sacrifice
Today's scriptures tell how the people of Israel went back to idolatry when Moses was still at the peak of Mount Sinai. Indeed God was angry, and as a result, the Israelites experienced a plague. This was the consequence of refusing God's Commandments.
Moses climbed up to God's Mountain again to ask God's mercy on the people of Israel who had violated His commands. By seeing Moses, God was reminded of His promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Afterwards, God arranged a new agreement with Moses. God loved His people again and gave Moses guidance. God is a loyal God, isn't He? God often gives us opportunities so that we can change. There is no love like a love of the Father in heaven. He is patient with us and, even more, He provides us guidance so we can come back to worship Him in the way that will please Him.
Because of the Lord's affection to the people of Israel, their hearts turned back to Him. The Israelites show the attitude of repentance by supporting the Lord's work in building a House of worship for the Lord. They rejoiced and gave special offerings to the Lord's House.
If we have received God's favor and love, then let's bring the offerings which are pleasing before God— our lives.
