Greater Thanনমুনা
Devotional with Matthew Harris
Freedom in Jesus is a wonderful thing. I believe it is something the enemy is continually trying to distract us from. At times deliverance from sin is something we accept, but for some reason we might hold on to shame. I’ve caught myself doing this. I’ll ask Jesus for forgiveness and accept that He has delivered me from my sin, but I continue to hold on to the feeling of shame. It’s almost as if I have believed a lie that the price Jesus paid covered the action of sin, but the feeling of shame was something I deserved to live with. But this isn’t true! Jesus died to deliver us from all sin and shame!
Jesus wants to see us walking in the fullness of the freedom He died to give us. On the cross, He took the sin and shame of the entire world because He loves us so much. We continually need to remind ourselves of what He did so we do not turn back and try to pick up something Jesus died to set us free from. We have been made new creations in Christ, not by our efforts but by the love and sacrifice of Jesus.
