How Big Is God?নমুনা
God Is Bigger Than Words
When you stop to think about God, it can make your brain want to crack in half! It’s basically impossible for humans to grasp the unlimited size of God. It’s more than words can really describe! For example: God is beyond time. That means He will live on forever. But (and here’s where your brain might start to crack) He also always lived forever. It can be possible to imagine something that will never end. But it’s harder to grasp something that never began. God just always was. He always is. And He always will be!
It takes some big words to describe some of the big concepts of God. It’s a job best suited for Professor Lexicon! Take a look at this video and see if the cracks in your brain start to fill in a bit with his teaching.
Okay. God is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. He is (and was) always present, He is all-powerful, and He knows everything there ever could be to know. See? It takes some big words to describe how big God’s nature is. And even these words can’t begin to describe all the wonders and mysteries of God.
For the next four days, we’ll take a look at our amazing God. And guess which piece of God’s nature we’re going to focus on? It’s something extremely powerful. It begins and ends with God. And it’s something that can change the way you see the whole world and yourself: God’s love for humanity. Including everyone! Including the person who irritates you the most. Including your best friend. And definitely including you. In fact, He loved us enough that He gave His Son to take the punishment for our sins—the bad things we do that separate us from God. He didn’t like that separation, so He made a way to fix it. With His own Son’s life! It’s indescribably wonderful! See again? Words just aren’t enough, are they?
Come back tomorrow, and we’ll start the deep dive into God’s love.
Ask yourself: Which aspect of God’s being fills me with the most awe: The fact that He’s everywhere all at the same time (omnipresent); The fact that He’s filled with all the power to do anything (omnipotent); Or the fact that He knows everything—even people’s most secret thoughts (omniscient)?
Challenge yourself: Create a mega-list of things that are awesome about God. See if you can add 10 things to it today. Then, try to add one new thing to it as often as you can.
Pray: God, You are truly awesome. It’s so hard for us to use something as limited as our human languages and words to describe You. It’s hard to even think about how amazing You are. Thank You, thank You, thank You that You love us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
About this Plan
It’s almost impossible to grasp how big God is. It’s going to be very hard to explain it in this Bible Plan because He’s bigger than words! This five-day Bible Plan for pre-teens will dive into John 3:16 and show that God is deeper than rejection—and how Christmas teaches us that God is closer than ever!
