He frees you.
There are many days it feels like we walk around with the weight of our sin on our chests. It can feel like we’re carrying around a backpack full of weights. We tend to imagine that God is up in heaven shaking His head over a long list of our sins, and so that weight goes with us.
Thankfully, that’s not how God sees us.
Psalm 103:12 (NLT) says that “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Jesus does not stand before us waiting to tell us all we have done wrong; He stands before us full of grace and mercy and sets us free from the bondage of our sin. Jesus says that we are forgiven, chosen, and set free. He has not only taken away our sin, but He also took away our guilt and our shame! God did not send Jesus to save us so we could stand in shame, but He did it so we could stand firm in Christ and walk in grace and freedom.
