What’s The Posture Of Your Heart?
“Then Peter came up to Him and said, Lord, how many times may my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? [As many as] up to seven times? Jesus answered him, I tell you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven! [Genesis 4:24.]” Matthew 18:21-22 AMPC
Forgive freely. Forgive frequently. Let God heal your heart. Let God make you whole. Don’t hold in the bitterness of the past. Don’t let the rejection of your past grip your heart. Let the pain go. Let the past go. Choose to set your heart in a posture of forgiveness. Let the chains of offense go. Let the freedom of God break you free from the torment of the past.
In Matthew 18:21-22 KJV, Peter asks the following question, “Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” Choose to forgive continually. Let God set your heart free from the bondage of the past.
Don’t rehearse the past. Choose to focus on the future. Forgive them. Forgive him. Forgive her. Don’t let the contamination of the past enter into the bedrock of your heart. God has forgiven you of much — so choose to freely forgive others. God has freely forgiven your sin and He remembers it no more. “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalms 103:12 KJV
