7 Days After Camp: How to live out of an encounter with God

DAY 7 OF 7

DAY SEVEN - HUNGER

Ask yourself this question - what does hunger look like to you? Not only have we been talking about what God does for us but what should we do for him? Personally I believe that because Jesus the son of God died for us he deserves every single part of us. In James 4:8 it’s says “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”

You may ask yourself, what does this mean? Well.. it simply means if we choose to hunger after God, to tune in to what he is saying, he will respond. If you search what “hunger” means in the dictionary it simply says “a feeling of discomfort or weakness by lack of food, coupled with the desire to eat.” For a second just imagine yourself being so hungry for food but as soon as you eat something your body has full energy and is ready to do greater things then when you were hungry and fatigued.

This is exactly what being hungry for God looks like. When we desire and hunger after the things of God he will fill us up. We no longer will be tired or weak but we will be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The reason we should hunger and press into God is because nothing on this earth can satisfy us like he does. Let’s be a generation that hungers for God. When anything gets in the way we need to make a choice to run into his arms. When I personally choose to hunger after God I am changed forever because He fills me. ‘Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.’ Matthew 5:6 AMP
