How The Shepherd Rescued The Sheepনমুনা
The First Easter
Even though the Shepherd died, the story was not over yet. Three days later, something amazing happened!
It was very early on Sunday morning when some of the women who were followers of Jesus went to see the tomb. They had prepared some spices for Jesus’ body. When they arrived at the tomb, they saw that the great stone covering the entrance had been rolled away. They went inside the tomb and saw that the body of Jesus was not there! They stood there not knowing what to think when two men in dazzling white robes appeared to them and said, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He is not here. He is risen from the dead!”
The women went back to the house where the disciples were. They told them and everyone else everything they had just experienced. Later on, Jesus himself was there standing among them. He greeted them, saying, “Peace be with you.” The group was puzzled; they did not know what to think. They even thought they were seeing a ghost!
Jesus asked them, “Why are you afraid? Don’t let your hearts be filled with doubt.” He showed them the marks on his hands and feet so they could touch Him and believe it was really Him, their Good Teacher. Still, they stood doubting what they were seeing. Jesus asked them for food. They gave Him a piece of fish, and He ate it before them.
This is the greatest twist in history! Just when we thought that all was lost, Jesus goes and overpowers death, and comes back to life. Jesus is all powerful and His love for you is just as strong. It can overcome the greatest of fears. Do not go another day without receiving His great gift of love for you.
