FCA: The Undefeated Devotional For Competitorsনমুনা
Relentless Competitor
By Dan Britton
READY:
“But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.” – Hebrews 10:39
SET:Competitors love to have goals, and they pursue them with everything they have. They give their all—all the time. They’re relentless.
To be relentless means to be strong, while the word “relent” means to give up. You could probably rephrase Hebrews 10:39 to read, “But we’re not of those who RELENT, but of those who are RELENTLESS.” God want us to move forward and be strong. As followers of Christ, we need to have relentless love, pursue relentless devotion and be on a relentless mission.
We also need to be relentless competitors. Relentless competitors have some grit and guts. They don’t buckle or fade, but have tenacity and fortitude. Relentless competitors are able to absorb the inevitable criticism, obstacles and setbacks and keep advancing. They keep their eyes on completing the mission and are willing to find creative solutions when things don't go as planned.
When it comes to leadership, relentless competitors remain focused on the finish line and help their teammates do the same. They are proactive and align their time, energy and activity around the most important priorities, removing distractions and avoiding interruptions. Relentless leaders move forward and take ground.
God is calling us to be relentless and to take ground for His Kingdom. Godly leaders are strategic and decisive. They don’t draw back; they have faith—faith in the One who called them into action and will see them through as they remain in Him.
GO:
1. In what areas of your life do you relent? When are you relentless?
2. What does it look like to be a relentless Christian competitor?
3. Turn Hebrews 10:39 into a relentless prayer.
WORKOUT:
Psalm 31:24
Galatians 6:9
OVERTIME:
Father, teach me how to be a relentless competitor. Help me to take ground for You. Show me how to be strategic. I ask for Your power and might to compete relentlessly all the time. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
