DESIRE: Dare to Be Loved
My children are now 20 and 17 years old. It’s not that easy anymore when it comes to purchasing birthday or Christmas gifts for them. It takes some additional observation, and sometimes I even ask them about what they want because of the reaction on their faces when they receive the gifts they really love - As Love delights in knowing, expressing and fulfilling the beloved’s wishes.
So as our Father is to us. He loves us; He delights in our communication with Him from our hearts and lips to tell Him what we desire. He then gladly fulfills our petition - because it shows that we dare to believe God’s love for us, and also dare to accept the new responsibility.
When Jesus asked the blind man (Mark 10:51) what he wanted from Him, it seems to state the obvious; however, have you ever witnessed in others or in your own experience that we sometimes are more willing to stay in the worse but familiar situation or environment rather than step into the better, but unknown, to pursue what we really want?
When the blind man confessed from his mouth, what he basically said was, “Yes, Lord, this is what I really wanted, I believe in Your Love (Mark 10:52), and I am ready to steward whatever responsibility it comes with.” Therefore, by faith, he received what he asked for.
Whenever God drops a seed in us as a DESIRE—in the context of your DELIGHT in HIM, it’s to bless not only us but also others.
When we ask to have more, let’s say it’s more business revenue, it doesn’t just mean more money, but more clients to serve, more team members to hire, hence more responsibility to take on.
From yesterday’s DESIGN content, we know we are more than enough to carry out what we are called to do.
In other words, when we dare to ask Abba what we want, it opens the door of God’s love to come in. It also shows that we are ready to make more impact and steward what we are asking for.
Now, ASK!
