Jesus Revealed Pt. 10 - I AM!নমুনা
Jesus and the Father Pt. 1
Thoughts on the Passage
“Just tell us plainly – are You the Christ [Messiah]?”
It is amazing how people hear… but do not hear. They see what Jesus does… but they do not understand its significance. Has Jesus told them He is the Messiah? Absolutely. They did not accept it and instead chose to be offended. Now they ask again. Jesus tells them to look at the works that He does in the name of the Father, that will demonstrate that God gives His seal of approval to Jesus. The Father would not give His approval to a fraud!
This challenge to Jesus demonstrates one thing- they are not part of God’s flock, God’s family. If they were, they would accept Jesus as the Good Shepherd and follow Him.
No one can snatch them out of My hand… the Father’s hand.
Two important thoughts here.
First, the Jews kicked the healed blind man out of the synagogue – but they cannot remove him from the Father’s hand. No one can do that. God’s hand is strong and secure. Never worry what men say to us or do to us. God is not dependant upon the approval of men.
Second, the hand of Jesus and the hand of the Father have the same power. Jesus holds us with the same power and authority that God the Father has. Their hands are one hand. When Jesus says “I and the Father are one”, it is directly referring to their power and authority to hold tightly to those who follow Jesus. However, He means much more that just this. Tomorrow we will see that the people understand this as well.
Application
Do you have trouble believing the promises of God? Take one of the powerful promises God has in His word and choose to hold it tightly today. Remember, that when people cannot help us, God’s hand is not short to save, to keep promises, and to hold us tightly in any situation.
Remember that the words of Jesus are the same words the Father gives to us. They are one. A promise from Jesus is also the promise of the Father.
Time to Pray
Father, I read in Hebrews that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever”. I choose to believe today that the same strong hand of protection and healing is the same today as it was back then. I choose to believe that Your hand is the same as the hand of Jesus. I choose to believe that whether I see it today or not. I choose to not accept anything said that describes You another way. I will rest securely in Your hand. I will allow You to fight my battles and let Your arm bring victory to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
About this Plan
A person’s name is his or her first identifier. Have you noticed that a person, more often than not, takes on the characteristics of their name? We see this a lot in the Bible – but have you looked at your own name and its meaning? Plan 10 is the significance of Jesus calling Himself “I AM”. Do we take comfort in knowing Jesus is WHO He says He is?
