The Seat Makerনমুনা
Freedom Within to Win
Have you ever been at the grocery store with a couple items approaching the checkout, and the person in front of you has a loaded cart, and they see you only have a couple things and say “you go ahead”? I don’t know if you’re like me, but this is such a mental shift for me when I’m rushing to check out at the store. “What do you mean, me first???” as you’d think their act of kindness was them giving me a winning lottery ticket. It feels so great because it was how God designed us to be. In our culture, it feels like we see these gestures less and less as time goes on. Such a simple act of kindness goes such a long way.
Where I'm willing to give, God will multiply in its place. When we recognize that serving God is privilege and an opportunity to be free of the cares and judgement of this world, we will see the world and our peers in a whole new light. God doesn’t want us to worry about how many seats are at the table. He gives us the confidence to know by His word that when we serve others openly, enough seats will be provided as He is the seat-maker. As the body of Christ, it is vital that we do as Jesus would do in order for others to see God for who He is and not some alternative.
There is a weight that is lifted when we have the revelation that the way to freedom within is by recognizing everything we have or will ever need comes from God and is God’s to begin with. This relieves the pressure of worry, knowing that God’s got our back and He knows what we need IN ALL SEASONS. His word stands the test of time, and when we uphold His word, He has a special seat in heaven waiting just for us, not meant for someone else. No one can take the seat in God’s Kingdom that He designed for you to occupy.
This week, I encourage you to try doing something kind for someone else; then make note of how it made you feel afterwards. It can be the simplest of things, but the selfless mentality behind it will touch the person you delivered it to.

About this Plan
Our desire to improve ourselves and make a heavenly mark in this life is a great thing as long as it doesn't come at the cost of pushing others out of their seat, in order to find our own. Join Pastor Jeff Gwaltney as he takes a look at how God prepares us now to join Him at heaven’s table.
