Tongue Of The Wiseনমুনা
Speak With Wisdom
Speak with wisdom and learn to say the right thing.
Proverbs 15:2 ‘The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness’. Proverbs 10:31 & 32 ‘the mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut out. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse’ declares King Solomon.
A vital principle or guideline to gain command over the words of our mouth, is to speak with wisdom and utilize the knowledge we possess rightly. Possessing information on different facts is good, but knowing when to speak, how much to speak is very crucial and this requires wisdom. The tongue of the wise does so with prudence.
When we speak what is right and acceptable, it is for our advantage and favorable to us and to the people we are communicating with in different settings, be it a board/ business/ sales/ design meeting etc.
However, on the contrary as referred to in Proverbs 10:32 ‘…the mouth of the wicked pours forth foolishness’. We need to be extremely cautious not to permit loose words out of our mouth which will be detrimental to our well-being itself. We do so by imploring God to bless us with wisdom to know how to utilize the knowledge we have attained in a right manner.
Father, we thank You that You have given us the grace to communicate, the ability to communicate to speak and yet sometimes our tongue gets us into trouble, sometimes the words we speak are loose and they are hurtful, they cause pain, they break down, they break people down, tear people down. So, God, we pray that You will set a guard over our mouth and that You will give us wisdom so that we know how to use knowledge rightly, how to speak what is acceptable. Help us to do this we pray. In Jesus' name, Amen.
