Power-Packed Prayer নমুনা
Peace-filled prayers
When the disciples of Jesus were in a boat on the sea of Galilee in the middle of a storm, it was no accident. Jesus had placed them there knowing the storm was coming and knowing the disciples would be overcome with fear.
As they bailed water, they realized they couldn’t overcome the storm in their own strength. They turned to Jesus and cried out, in effect, “Don’t you care?”
Jesus spoke a 3-word prayer to the storm: “Peace! Be still!” (Mark 4:39 NRSV).
That’s the power of Jesus Christ – and in his name, you have access to that same power in your life.
Christians can’t demand something in prayer from Jesus that is outside His will. But if it is His will, then there is something exceedingly powerful when we pray in Jesus’ name. He taught us, “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” (John 14:13-14 NLT).
If I gave you a check and signed my name to it, you’d have access to my limited bank account. You’d be able to withdraw some money. But if the Lord of the universe gave you a check and signed it with His name, then you’d have the ability to invade the treasure vault of heaven.
That’s partially the meaning of praying in the powerful name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is above all names. At His name, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord over all (Philippians 2:9-11).
Jesus’ mighty name needs to be used in prayer. Jesus said so. Peter said it’s the only name that grants salvation (Acts 4:12). Paul said that Jesus’ name is available to all His children everywhere (1 Corinthians 1:2). So remember to pray your 3-word prayers in Jesus’ name – so the same power that calmed the raging seas can bring His peace into the storms of your life.
- Did the disciples have the authority to calm the storm? Jesus gave them authority over the enemy and all his power (Luke 9:1-2). Could they have spoken this 3-word prayer for themselves with the same result?
- What situation in your life currently overwhelms you even though you may be “bailing” with all your might? What 3-word prayer can express your confidence that Jesus is with you in your storm?
- Think about the last few times you faced stress-filled situations. How quickly did you turn to prayer? Why do you think it is natural to turn to our own strength before we turn to Jesus?
- Who is facing an overwhelming situation right now? Ask the Lord to help you share peace with them in His name. What 3-word prayer can you pray for them?
