Live Without Borders

DAY 3 OF 5

Today’s Look into the Closet of Exchange:

Say the word strength, and many of us immediately think of diet plans, workout routines, and trips to the gym. The word reminds us of the workout clothes we bought last year with good intentions but never wore. They are still hanging in the closet and probably not very neatly.

To be physically strong and fit is a fine goal, but there is a greater strength that is even more essential: a strength that can only be found in God. Godly strength always beats physical strength—every time. Sometimes, we buy into the lie that we are not strong in the Lord, and we’ll never experience His strength.

News flash: God’s Word never indicates that God wants His people to remain weak. God is at work in the midst of weakness and in ways that escape our eyes or understanding. I honestly never want to even appear weak! I sometimes forget the Lord doesn’t consider me weak just because I need Him, His guidance. His forgiveness, and His love.

And here is another news flash: God’s light shines through the crevices of our weakness for those around us to see. When we endure pain and trials in the strength Christ provides, others gain a fuller picture of the reason for our hope. When He showcases His power in our weakness, trials, sickness, and pain, He is even more glorified because He did it all.

Now, put those new clothes on. Strength looks good on you!

Today’s Life Exchange:

1. Take a moment right now to thank God for the many ways He has been at work in you, especially during the times in your life when you were weak.

2. Do you know someone who has “stood tall” in their weakness? Did you see Jesus during their suffering? Please encourage them today by sharing how you saw Jesus in them.
