Cheers To The Diaper Yearsনমুনা
Prayer # 4: Wise Warrior
Moms wear more hats than a Major League Baseball team. Parenthood requires us to take on a laundry list of roles for our little ones: nurse, banker, head chef, boo-boo kisser, party planner, therapist, developmental diva, life organizer, calendar scheduler extraordinaire, and the list goes on and on. Heck, just add on butcher, baker, and candlestick-maker for good measure. The pressures to serve our children well while embodying each of those roles can seem impossible most of the time, and that’s why we need His wisdom to guide us. Join me in prayer…
Dear Lord,
Give me the wisdom to know when to snuggle, when to discipline, and when to exit the room in order to count to ten. Guide me as I purchase everything from chicken nuggets to household cleaning products. Help me pick the best school with the shiniest crayons and kindest playmates, while more importantly still discovering the most Christ-centered environment where my child can grow closer to you.
If you could somehow provide me with a virtual manual on BPA guidelines, pediatrician-approved snacks, and FDA-appropriate words, that’d be such a bonus. I surrender my hands and heart to you, so that you may guide me as I lead these precious ones. Many-a-discussion will arise in which I will need you to physically take over my mouth and speak for me.
Your mind may be boggled (albeit unsurprised in your infinite wisdom) by the number of choices Moms face these days, but you are the only One I trust for guidance. I beg you to instruct my mind and prepare my heart while holding my hand along this incredible journey. Because I know that if I ask, you will provide me the wisdom I so desperately need.
All my love,
Wisdom-Seeking Momma

About this Plan
As moms, we drive ourselves crazy striving for perfection. We try to prepare the healthiest meals, install the safest car seats, plan the best birthdays, yet we lie awake at night wondering if we’re doing enough. The pressures are overwhelming. God selected you to parent your child. You can survive the diaper years because you are more than enough in Christ. Cheers to the grace and goodness found in him!
