Promises On The Journeyনমুনা
Internal Battles
Internal battles come and go in our lives. They can either make us or break us. They can close us off from Christ or bring us closer to Him.
Internal battles aren’t fun or pretty, but they aren’t supposed to be. This was me not too long ago—the enemy was trying his best to reach deep inside my thoughts and pull out the negative ones that he knew would pull me further under. Some days the only way I could get through those ugly times was to put on a fake smile and tell myself I was fine, when in reality I was far from it.
Jehoshaphat knew all too well about battles. Instead of letting the enemy come too far with doubts and fears he went to our heavenly Father. He was honest and open that he did not know what to do, BUT that his eyes were upon God. (2 Chronicles 20:12 GNB) He placed it all down at the Father’s feet and He answered him – “You will not have to fight this battle. Just take up your positions and wait; you will see the Lord give you victory” (2 Chronicles 20:17 GNB). By taking up his position in front of Christ he then could move forward with the strength and power that he and his army were lacking.
Likewise, we can either try to fight our internal battles by ourselves—which allows the enemy to dig deep into our minds— or we can be like Jehoshaphat and lay our doubts, fears, and negativity at the feet of our Savior. By placing them down at Christ’s feet we are allowing Him to fight our battle and give us victory. We don’t have to put on a fake smile through these battles, all we need to do is take up our positions and move forward.
