Rebellion

DAY 1 OF 3

What is Rebellion?

Rebellion is disobedience to God and is likened to the spirit of divination. This is an important parallel because divination is what pagan cultures practice in hopes to communicate with spirits in search for answers. God warned Israel that those practices are forbidden since He is their source. Thus, rebellion is established on pride that says, “I don't need you, God. I will find answers to my solutions without your aide and approval. Then I will begin to influence people with what I know and receive all the glory.”

Rebellion can be translated most often as change, disobedient, disobey, provoke, rebellious, and rebel. In the New Testament, similar words for rebellion are disobedience and sedition. The first documented act of sedition (or rebellion) occurred in Heaven when Lucifer led ⅓ of the angels to revolt, and the second documented act of rebellion was in Eden.

Rebellion wants to be worshiped and obeyed instead of having a relationship and submission to God. Rebellion cuts off your Kingdom privileges, but by God's grace, a rebellious person can still have access to God through Jesus Christ. Yet the purpose of the spirit of rebellion is to block a believer from thriving.

Can you think of areas in your walk where your agenda was more important than God’s? Your personal vision was more important than the company you worked for, the church you serve in, or the relationships you’re involved in?

About this Plan

Rebellion

Rebellion is a spirit whose purpose is to cause the believer to use their pride as a catalyst to hurt and mislead others. Pride births rebellion and rebellion miscarries purpose. This three day plan will help you identify the spirit of rebellion and how to use the power Christ has given you to have victory over rebellion.
