Unlimited Grace

DAY 11 OF 14

Nothing Can Separate You from the Love of God

I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39, NIV).

Life is a journey, and we’re all travelers through this world. We’re all on a quest: the quest for love.  Often our love will be betrayed. And even the very best kinds of love are only a pointer to the ultimate goal of our journey. To know Jesus and be more like Him.  We were made to be loved by God and to love Him in return.

But the apostle Paul tells us that this experience is also a present reality, whatever our current circumstances may be. The love of God is not the goal of the journey, it is the journey itself.

In Romans 8, the apostle Paul assures us that absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God. If Jesus didn’t abandon you at Calvary, how could He abandon you now?

Where’s your journey brought you? Whether you’re in bed unable to get up to face the day or curled up in the corner of a room on the floor, nothing can separate you from God’s love.  Nothing!

Your feelings lie. God tells the truth.  Refuse to listen to the voices that condemn and belittle you. Your feelings are liars. Take your thoughts to God and put them under the obedience of Christ.  Only the assurance of God’s love is the truth. Believe it, and take the hand of God, and let your journey continue.
