7 Days to a Sweeter Yearনমুনা
6. Read the Gospels and Rediscover Yeshua (Jesus)
The apostle Paul declared every other good thing in life rubbish compared to knowing Jesus. Isaiah 53:2 tells us that nothing about the Messiah’s appearance would attract people to Him. Still, crowds were drawn to Jesus, especially sinners.
Another way to sweeten your new year is to ask God to show you things about Jesus in the gospels that you may not have noticed before. As you open your eyes to see Him afresh in familiar stories, you may find examples of His gentleness, obedience, holiness, dependence or below-the-surface mercies that previously escaped you. When you do, you will rediscover His love and grace toward you. He has the same tenderness for you as He showed to the hemorrhaging woman. He takes the same pleasure in your sincere gratitude as He took in the single leper who returned to thank Him after Jesus healed all 10.
Jesus said when we’ve seen Him, we’ve seen the Father. Knowing the One who loves you perfectly is one of the sweetest gifts there is!
