Worship Central—Stir A Passion

DAY 3 OF 5

FROM GLORY TO GLORY

Sometimes it’s tempting to believe that nothing is actually happening to us or in us. Maybe we feel the humdrum of routine, a life of limitations or we are dismayed by our lack of progress in certain areas. Will we ever get to the destination? Why does it always feel like we are arriving and have never actually arrived? Am I further back now that when I first started?

Yet these verses remind us that as Christians, if we have made a commitment to follow Christ and receive His transforming power, we have started on a journey in which greater things are still to come. It’s a life of liberation and freedom along the way as we stay open to the work of the Holy Spirit and acknowledge "Christ in us the hope of glory."

Simply injecting our enthusiasm to create new life won’t cut it. It has to be by the Spirit of God. I’ve found that slowing down to listen and allow God’s transforming power into my life seems to be the fastest track I can take. And of course when this life draws to a close the next life begins—a greater glory than we can ever imagine. The late Billy Graham said, "…I don’t know the future, but I do know this: the best is yet to be! Heaven awaits us, and that will be far, far more glorious than anything we can ever imagine."

So today I want to encourage you to bask in the glory of God. To set aside some time to become aware of His presence surrounding you and within you. To reflect and radiate His glory to the world and although sometimes we may not feel it, or even see it, we can rest in the truth that day by day, little by little, step by step, we are moving from glory to glory.

About this Plan

Worship Central—Stir A Passion

“Stir a passion in my heart, God. Let it overflow, let it overflow…” In this 5-day series of devotionals, the team from WORSHIP CENTRAL addresses topics related to renewing our passion for Jesus and for His kingdom in the midst of the struggles and “busyness” of the everyday. These devotionals are for the person who is “counting their blessings” AND for the person who’s barely hanging on. May we see situations and people (including ourselves) as He sees them. May our hearts be open to His will, as we sit at the feet of Jesus.
