Praying God's Word Over Your Kids: Part 1নমুনা
Before he even entered the world, I prayed over my oldest son, Noah. I prayed things that would not come to pass for years and years. I used The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian to help guide me in those faith-filled prayers. And that's what they were: prayers filled with faith and expectation that my God would do a mighty work in my child.
Since then, I've been blessed with two more sons and my prayers for all three of them have morphed into far more desperate and specific prayers over their lives. Yet, the foundation of my prayers is based upon truth from God's Holy Word, the Bible. It's simple yet profound. To simply take God at His Word and believe in faith that my children, our children, will be all He created them to be.
So, how do I do it? I literally just place their name in the scripture and pray it. How easy is that? This idea is not something I invented. It has been around for ages. I just simply want to share this with you so that you can make powerful petitions to our great God on behalf of your children.
Aloud or silently, in private or in public. Proclaim it directly to them and other times, speak it over them. Whether you are a parent now, hope to be one in the future or have children in your life you just want to pray boldly for, these scriptural prayers are for you! In fact, you could even pray these prayers over yourself!
Whether your child is unborn, 20 or 55, prayer is necessary. God's Word does not return void. If we use our Bibles to speak truth and power over our children, it will accomplish its purpose in their lives.
Let's pray a general prayer over our children today. Simply place your children's names and/or future children in the blank and believe that God will transform them!
- Heavenly Father, I pray that the eyes of ____________’s heart may be enlightened in order that ____________ may know the hope to which God has called him, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for ____________ who believes. (Ephesians 1:18-19)
- Now to Him who is able to keep ____________ from stumbling, and to make ____________ stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 24-25)
I encourage your to print these prayers out or copy and paste them electronically on your device. Make praying these prayers your daily habit! You won't be disappointed.
About this Plan
Praying for our children is instinctual as parents. We are constantly praying for their health, well being and happiness. All of those are great, but let's go deeper in our prayers for them. As Jesus followers, the Word of God is our foundation for truth and because of that, it makes sense that we should use it as our guide. Join Cindy as she shares prayers with you that she has prayed over her three sons and walk in faith that you will see it all come to pass in your own children's lives.
