13 Reasons To Keep Goingনমুনা
GOD NEVER FORGETS
“I’ve got to keep breathing because tomorrow the sun will rise, and who knows what the tide will bring.” -Tom Hanks, Castaway
After having some amazing dreams – dreams that promised a great future – his jealous brothers sold him to some traveling traders. He was soon enslaved in Egypt, unjustly accused of a crime against his master, and wound up rotting in prison.
And yet, the Bible says, “While Joseph was there in prison, the Lord was with him.” Huh? Say what!?
It turned out to be true. Joseph went from being a favored son, to being imprisoned, to becoming the prime minister of Egypt – second in line to Pharaoh. It was a wild ride.
Bad things happened to Joseph. His brothers betrayed him. His slavemaster’s wife framed him. His fellow prison inmates forgot about him after they were released. But God didn’t forget him. In fact, he used the bad stuff to accomplish His purposes.
“You intended to harm me,” Joseph told his brothers when they were finally reunited, “but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives” (Genesis 50:20).
God never forgets. But there’s something else Joseph’s story tells us: we have to have faith in Him. Joseph didn’t give up. He didn’t despair. He didn’t get mad at God. He didn’t question. He waited. He endured. He hoped. He trusted.
Do you feel forgotten? You’re not. Hold on. Things can change. Fast. Hold on, because you don’t know what God has planned. But it’s gonna be good.
PRAYER: Right now, things don’t seem good. They don’t seem fair. I feel forgotten. Remember me, God. And do what only You can do.
