Holy Hustle: Embrace A Work-Hard, Rest-Well Lifeনমুনা
Do you ever wonder if you’re doing the right thing? Or if you’re really where God wants you? Or if something more or different or better or bigger is somewhere out there for you? Or maybe you wonder if the cost of your calling is worth the moments you feel like you’re missing.
So many moments in life feel like we’re in a room where all the lights have burned out and we’re stumbling around to find a light switch, a candle, or a flashlight to guide our steps. In those moments, trust God. Grab tightly to His outstretched hand and believe He will guide you safely to the next door He has ready for you to step through. The darkness doesn’t have to be scary when we can walk with the Light of the World.
But those questions you’re asking yourself are legitimate. Your fears and worries shouldn’t cause you shame. If we could all sit down together to talk about our work, our passions, and our faith, I would be surprised if anyone said their life has turned out exactly the way they planned. What would you say to a friend at the table who had those questions? Would you tell her she’s right, and that she should probably just give up?
I hope not.
We would love her and pray with her. We would encourage her and find ways to tell her that what she’s doing is good, and worthy, and valuable, and that if she knows in her spirit that this is where God wants her in this season, then it’s no mistake.
I would tell you how firmly I believe God is in the practice of taking the humble and making it holy, and that obedience (not size, fame, or recognition) is what matters in the impact we make through our kingdom work.
God is faithful in all that He does. Where you are, what you’re doing, and the people right in front of you whom God has asked you to serve are no mistake. The challenges, disappointments, and failures are no mistake.
God will use every piece of our story to illuminate His glory.
