Love God Greatly: 1 & 2 Thessaloniansনমুনা
Read: 2 Thessalonians 3:6-9
SOAP: 2 Thessalonians 3:9
As we wait for the Lord’s return, we should stay busy about God’s business and work hard to provide for our families. Some believers in Thessalonica had decided to use the Lord’s imminent return as an excuse for idleness and lethargy. Paul argues we should not allow anticipation of tomorrow’s coming glory to create an ambivalence toward our responsibilities today. As a hard worker, Paul set the example for the church by continuing his trade as a tentmaker to support his ministry as a traveling missionary and mouthpiece for the Gospel.
Is your work ethic exemplary? As Christ followers, we should not be so “heavenly minded” that we are no “earthly good.” Work hard as you wait for His return.
Lord, help me work hard where You have placed me during this season of waiting. May my diligent efforts be an offering of worship to You. Amen

About this Plan
In the books of 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, you meet a church who are going through some storms. Severe persecution is threatening their lives, and they are clinging to the promise that Jesus is coming back. This promise is from the Promise Keeper…He IS coming back. The Thessalonians had to learn to live with this hope as they lived their lives in the now.
