God's Graceনমুনা
Did you know that Jesus never sinned? That’s right. He was on the earth for 33 years, and in all of that time, He never did a single thing wrong. He never snatched a toy, or told a lie, or was mean to his siblings. Jesus is God, so He is perfect.
We, on the other hand, are not perfect. We might think we are better than other people. We might think we are nicer, or better at giving, or smarter. Those ways of measuring ourselves don’t matter, though. Even when we think we are doing good, our hearts are controlled by sin if we don’t follow Jesus.
The way God measures us does matter, though. God doesn’t measure us with a ruler to see if we’re growing taller. God doesn’t measure us by comparing us to other good people. God doesn’t even measure us by seeing if we act better now than we used to. So, how does God measure us?
He measures us against His standard: perfection. Unfortunately, we can never be perfect. Everyone makes wrong choices, mistakes, and does things that disobey God. If we measured our lives, we wouldn’t be anywhere close to God’s perfect greatness!
Thankfully, we don’t have to be perfect. We have God’s gift of grace! When we choose to follow Jesus, the sin in our heart is forgiven, and He makes us measure up to God’s glory!
Watch the video, then use the Bible verse Romans 6:23 to play Bible Verse Tag. It will help you remember that even though you’re not perfect, you have God’s grace.
Bible Verse Tag
1. Pick one person to be the Bible Tagger.
2. The Bible Tagger chases everyone and tries to tag them.
3. Each time the Bible Tagger catches someone, the Bible Tagger says the Bible verse with the person they tagged.
4. The person they tagged is the new Bible Tagger.
Talk It Over:
How do you measure yourself?
How do you feel when you know you’ve done something wrong and you don’t measure up?
How would you feel if you had to be perfect all the time?
What do you think is so great about God’s grace?
