Easter In The Kingdom By Edmound Teoনমুনা
Character vs Adversity
Adversity is given prime importance in defining a person's character. You cannot develop real character by avoiding adversity and struggle. Therefore, one's character is shown when faced with adversity.
The disciples followed Jesus to Jerusalem, expecting to crown Him as King of the Jews, waiting for Him to set up His Kingdom and sitting on thrones and judging the twelve tribes (Lk. 22:30), but things went terribly wrong that night. Instead, Jesus allowed Himself to be arrested without any resistance or struggle. He saw His betrayal coming and welcomed it!
What kind of Kingdom did Jesus usher in? The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power (1 Cor. 4:20), not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17), for flesh and blood cannot inherit it.
Prayer: Dear Father, I lay down my life to follow you without struggle even knowing adversities will always be there because Your Kingdom is advancing through me. I will overcome adversities with love. I will live out the Kingdom lifestyle by propelling the example of Jesus. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
