Longing for Motherhoodনমুনা
Day Six – God Sees and Cares for You
Hagar was the first person recorded in the Bible who called God by name: “You are the God who sees me” (v.13). Her barren mistress Sarai had given her to Abram so they could have a child. However, Sarai began to harass Hagar when she became pregnant with Abram’s child, causing Hagar to flee into the wilderness. In the middle of her despair and isolation, God saw her and spoke to her.
Suffering is hard. Suffering alone is almost unbearable. But we can cling to the fact that God sees us and loves us. Our heart’s greatest desire is to be fully known and fully loved, but the truth is that human love won’t ever be enough. Only the Lord can truly satisfy those longings, and He has promised that He’ll never leave or forsake us.
God sees you when you’re weeping and broken hearted
God sees you when yet another friend get pregnant, and your womb remains empty
God sees you when your heart is breaking over a miscarriage
God sees you when the years of infertility stretch on
God sees you when you groan in prayer
The Apostle Paul tells us the Lord is “the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort” (2 Cor. 1:3) and that He “comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Cor. 1:4).
We serve a compassionate God who is the source of all comfort. Rest in His tender care.
