The Father Speaks Provision
Jesus desires to speak provision over you, not only because He has the power to do so, but because He loves you. Jesus is compassionate and sensitive to our needs.
There are miracles in the Bible that precede provision. When Jesus multiplied the bread and fish He had been teaching to a multitude of people who followed Him. Hours passed, yet the crowd stood with Him thirsty to learn more. A need became apparent. People were hungry, and it was not wise to send them back home since the walk was too far. Jesus asked His disciples to sit the crowd in groups and then He performed the miracle. But this miracle was not limited to only satisfy those who followed, but was abundant and had plenty of leftovers.
On another occasion, Elisha the prophet found himself talking to a woman who had two children and her husband had passed away. He had left two great debts, so big, that she was left with absolutely nothing, and they were going to take her sons as slaves to pay for her debt. This woman’s situation was critical, and she saw no way out. Let’s not forget to mention that her husband was a God-fearing man who served Elisha. Elisha not only knew him but knew he had been a man who loved and served God. The widow told Elisha all she had was a little bit of oil. He asked her to go borrow as many bowls and jugs as she could find so he could fill them with oil. This was the miracle that she and her sons desperately needed to pay their debts. Elisha told her, “Live both, you and your sons, on what’s left,” meaning that not only did the oil multiply enough to fill the jugs and pay their debts, but that they had enough left over to keep for themselves.
I believe that God not only wants to provide a miracle, but also desires to place order in certain areas in your life and prepares you to receive more than you could ever imagine.
Jesus desires to multiply what you have, even when what you have is very little. That is when God’s power of provision shines. All we have to do is give Him what we have, surrender, and trust that He will perform the miracle.
