Fear Not! A Journey From Fear To Freedom (Part 2)নমুনা
It’s Yours, Go Get It
“Look, the Lord your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged. And every one of you came near to me and said, 'Let us send men before us, and let them search out the land for us, and bring back word to us of the way by which we should go up, and of the cities into which we shall come.' The plan pleased me well; so I took twelve of your men, one man from each tribe” (Deuteronomy 1:21-23).
Moses spoke to the Israelites and told them that God had their future home prepared for them, all they had to do was go possess it; and He gave them one final comment: “Do not fear or be discouraged.” Then, some of Moses’ trusted advisors came up to him and suggested they spy out the Promised Land and see how they would take it, and this plan sounded good to Moses so he agreed. The only problem was that this idea did not come from God and He had been doing a pretty good job leading them to this point.
By following man’s advice instead of God’s, it opened up the door for fear and discouragement. God’s direction was very clear: Go possess the land I promised you and do not be afraid. To this point in the exodus from Egypt, God had already shown them many victories. In most of these battles, the Israelites were doing more observing than fighting, seeing God’s mighty hand at work for them.
The children of Israel paid a very heavy price for falling prey to fear. They lived the next forty years wandering. Some of the places they stayed were not bad places, but they were not THE place God had set aside especially for them - The Promised Land.
Has fear kept you from opening a door that you know He has called you to walk through? Have you listened to someone bring you a negative report about why you should not do something you believe God has called you to do? God has a destiny for you as He tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God wants the very best for His children so do not settle for anything less than what He has planned for you. Do not fear; do not be discouraged!
Prayer: Thank You Lord for the plans You have for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me. Help me to walk into my destiny. Let me not fall prey to fear and its dream-devouring poison. I pray You will equip me for the journey ahead. May my life bring glory and honor to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
