Drink In: Living From A Healthy Soulনমুনা
Drink In
My biggest obstacle is not that I am surrounded by broken people who will regularly bring trouble into my life. It is not that I live in a fallen world where temptation is all around me and bombards me all day long. It is not that this world is horribly messed up and we will face difficulty, toil, disease, loss, and grief. No, that is not the problem.
The problem is that I am broken. I have sin still residing in my heart. It distorts my thoughts. It impacts all my relationships. It mars my leadership potential.
Sin in my life causes me to live in a contradictory way to what I profess. It causes me to lose my way. It causes me to be less than I could be in life. The truth is that not only I deal with this sin issue- you deal with it also. So what is the solution?
We don’t need a change in scenery. We don’t need a vacation or to pick better friends. We don’t need a different position or a new job. We need to lean into the truth that Jesus came to not only to make us better and cleaner- He came to rescue us.
When Jesus died on the cross, it was not to make us more moral or more religious. When He died, He paid the penalty for our sin. This is the world of difference we are seeking.
Pour Out
Have you placed your faith not in your efforts, but in the work that Jesus completed?
Thank God for saving you from sin.
Consider what Jesus had to undertake to secure our redemption. How do you want to respond to God right now considering this truth?
