You Did Good
“Well done good and faithful servant”. What does it mean to live as a good servant? Ultimately as Christians we’re called to live our lives in such a way that we set the example for those around us. The reality is, we’re not perfect (shock, horror!). We’re bound to make mistakes along the way, but what I love about the two servants in Matthew 25 is that when their Master left them with his talents, they didn’t waste it away, they didn’t draw back and make excuses as to why they couldn’t, but they did something good with what their master had given them. We have the same choice to make in our lives, with all that God has placed in them. We have an opportunity to do ‘good’ with what God has given us and where he has placed us; or, like the third servant, draw back and do absolutely nothing with what God has given us. My question for you is, what are you going to do with all the gifts and talents that God has put into you and your life? Will it be said of you “well done good and faithful servant”?
Prayer: Lord, I pray that You continue to guide us through all seasons of life, and that You will empower us to do everything in a way that is good and according to Your will. I pray that through every hardship, failure and disappointment we face in our lives, we will continue to do the good things that You intended for us to do when You created us. Amen.
