Gospel Hope: Devotions From Time of Graceনমুনা
Me + God 4ever
We sling the word "forever" around pretty loosely most of the time. “Diamonds are forever,” says a slick ad campaign. No, they aren’t. “U + Me 4ever” is written in high school yearbooks every year. Forever? Hmm, no. “I will be forever grateful . . .” No again.
There is only one voice that you can believe whose “forever” is really forever. His name is the Lord. He has existed from all eternity backward in time, has experienced all decades, centuries, and millennia of human life, and will continue to exist going forward without end. He moves backward and forward in time effortlessly; in fact, it is all one gigantic present for God. When He makes a prophetic prediction, you know it will be true because He’s already there watching it happen.
His great passion and great achievement is to bring you into His heaven and His eternity: “I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:3,4).
Safe. Immortal. Happy. Healed. Together. Forever.
