John 4

4
chapter four
1when therefore the L-rd has self find out, that the Pharisees had heard, that Yehoshua makes and is immersing in the mikveh more disciples than John— 2although Yehoshua himself did not immerse in the mikveh, only his disciples— 3did he depart the land of Yehudah, and is again went away to Galilee. 4and has obliged to go through through Samaria. 5and so comes he in a city of Samaria, which it be called Sh'khem, near by the field, which Jacob has given to his son Joseph; 6and there was James' well. and being tired from the journey, has Yehoshua himself thus sat down at the well; it was around the sixth hour (noon). 7comes a woman from Samaria to draw water; says Yehoshua to her: give me to drink. 8because the disciples his did go away into city into, so that buy food. 9says therefore to him the Samaritan woman: how ask you (sg), a Jewish person, to drink from me, who I am a Samaritan woman? because Jews have not any dealings with Samaritans. 10did Yehoshua answer and said to her: if you (SG) would know the gift of Hashem, and who this one is, who says to you (SG): give me to drink, would you (SG) have him asked, and he would you (SG) given living water. 11says the woman to him: Sir, you (SG) you have not with what to draw, and the well is deep; from where then you have this living water? 12or are you then greater than our father Jacob, who did us give this well, and himself from it drank, and his sons and his herds? 13did Yehoshua answer and said to her: every one, who drinks of the this water, will again thirsty become; 14who however it will drink from the water, which I will him give, that (one) will until on eternal more not thirsty become; but this water, which I will him give, will become in him a water spring, which springs up to the eternal life. 15says the woman to him: Sir, give me this very water, so that I shall not be thirsty, and not need to come here to draw (water). 16says Yehoshua to her: go call your husband, and come here. 17did the woman answer and said: I have not any husband. says Yehoshua to her: you (SG) have correctly said: I have not any husband; 18because you (SG) have already had five men, and he, whom you (SG) have now, is not your husband; the these you have truth said. 19says the woman to him: Sir, I see, that you (SG) are a prophet. 20our ancestors did self worship (to Hashem) on the this mountain; and you (PL) say, that in Jerusalem is the place, where one must self worship (to Hashem). 21says Yehoshua to her: believe me, woman, that it comes a hour, when not on the this mountain, not (nor) in Jerusalem will you (PL) self worship to the Father. 22you (PL) worship self to what you (PL) know not, we know yes to whom we worship self; because the salvation is of the Jews. 23but there comes a hour, and is already now, when the true servants of Hashem, will self worship to the Father in Spirit and in the truth; because the Father seeks such, who should self worship to him. 24Hashem is a Spirit, and those, who worship self to him, must self worship in Spirit and in the truth. 25says to him the woman: I know, that the Moshiach is coming, (which means anointed one) when he will come, will he us everything tell. 26says to her Yehoshua: I am He, who speaks with you (SG).
27and at the this did his disciples came, and have self amazed, that he speaks with a woman; yet did anyone not say: what do you want? or: why speak you (SG) with her? 28and the woman has left her water jar, and did went away in city into, and said to the people: 29come, see a man, who did me tell everything, which I have done; is this not perhaps the Moshiach? 30did they go out out of the city, and did come to him. 31meanwhile have him the disciples asked, so to say: Rebbe, eat. 32he however did to them say: I have a food to eat, which you (PL) know it not. 33have the disciples therefore said one to the other: (question) has to him then someone brought something to eat? 34said Yehoshua to them: my food is, that I shall do the will of the one, who has me sent, and to complete his work. 35(question) says you (PL) then not: after four months, and it comes the harvest? look, I tell you (PL): lift up your (PL) eyes and see the fields, that they are already white to the harvest. 36the reaper receives a wage, and gathers together fruits to the eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper should self rejoice together. 37because in the this (case) is this proverb true: one sows, an other reaps. 38I have you (PL) sent to reap, what you (PL) have not cultivated; others did work, and you (PL) are entered in their work into.
39and from that city did a many Samaritans believe in him through the word of the woman, who did witness said: he has me told everything, that I have done. 40and when the Samaritans did come to him, have they him asked to remain with them; and he is there remain two days. 41and a many more did believe through his word, 42and did say to the woman: we believe more not on account of your speaking, because we ourselves have him heard; and know, that he is in truth the Moshiach, the redeemer of the world. 43and in two days around is he from there went out to Galilee. 44because Yehoshua himself has witness said, that a prophet has not any honor in his own home land. 45when therefore he is come to Galilee, have the people of Galilee him welcomed, because they have seen everything, which he had done in Jerusalem at the Yom Tov; because they themselves did also go up for Yom Tov.
46and he is again a time come to Cana of Galilee, where he has made of the water wine. and there was a certain royal official, whose son was lying sick in K'far-Nachum. 47as the this one has heard, that Yehoshua was came from Yehudah to Galilee, is he went away to him, and him asked, that he shall come down and heal his son; because he was held near death. 48and Yehoshua has said to him: if you (PL) see not any signs and wonders, will you (PL) never way not believe. 49says the royal official to him: Sir, come down, before my child dies. 50said Yehoshua to him: go, your son lives! the man did believe in the word, which Yehoshua had to him said, and has gone. 51and while he is going down, have him his servants met, and said, that his boy lives. 52he has self therefore ask after with them the hour, in which it was him better become. have they to him said: yesterday in the seventh hour had the fever him leave. 53the father did therefore know, that it was in that hour, is which Yehoshua has to him said: your son lives; and he did believe and that whole house his. 54the these is already the second sign (miracle), which Yehoshua had done, when he is come from Yehudah to Galilee.
