chapter twelve
1therefore also we, having around ourselves such cloud of witnesses (martyrs), let us remove from self every burden and the sin, which encircles us so easily around, and let us run patiently the race, which lies before us, 2and look on Yehoshua, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy, which is put become before Him, has he bear/carry the tree. scorned the shame, and Himself sat down on the right side of Hashem's throne of glory. 3because consider Him, who did endure such opposition from sinners against Him, so that you (PL) shall not grow weary and lose heart be in your (PL) souls. 4you (PL) have yet not yourselves resisted until blood, wrestling with the sin; 5and have forgotten the warning, which speaks to you (PL) as to sons:
my son, scorn not the reproof of the L-rd (G-d),
fall not with self down, when you (SG) will be by him reproved;
6because whom the L-rd (G-d) has love, that one disciplines He,
and strikes every son, whom He accepts on.
(Proverbs 3, 11-12)
7if you (PL) hold out reproof, relates Himself Hashem to you (PL) as to sons; for who for a son is that, whom the father disciplines not? 8however if you (PL) are indeed without reproof, of which all (children) are participant, so are you (PL) illegitimate and not any sons. 9we have yet also had human fathers, who have us punished, and we have them give honor; (question) should we then not much more ourselves subject to the Father of the spirits and live? 10because in the time actually of a few days have they us disciplined and according to their discretion; He however for our benefit, so that we should have a share in His holiness. 11every punishment in its time shines actually out to be not any joy but a sorrow; later however yields it the peaceful fruit of righteousness to the (ones), who are trained by it.
12therefore shall you (PL) lift up the hands, which droop down and the knees, which are weak become; 13and straight paths shall you (PL) make for your (PL) feet, so that the lame shall yourselves not deviate, but rather shall it healed be. 14pursue after peace with everyone and the making holy, without which anyone will not see the L-rd; 15and give attention, that anyone shall not fall away from Hashem's grace, that any bitter root shall not grow up to trouble and that through it shall a many defiled be; 16that it shall not be any adulterer or profane, like Esav, who did for a one single food/meal give away his birthright. 17because you (PL) know, that even later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, is he rejected become; because he has not found any possibility of repentance, although he has it sought with tears.
18because you (PL) are not come to any mountain, which one can touch and which burns with fire, and to darkness and to darkness and storm, 19and the sound of a trumpet and a voice of words, which the (ones) who heard have begged, that any word shall more to them not spoken be, 20because they have not be able endure that, which is ordered become; (quote unquote) even if a beast will touch the mountain, shall one it stone to death; 21and, the appearance was so terrible, that Moses has said; I am full with fear and trembling; 22but you (PL) are come to the Mount of Zion and to the city of the living G-d, the heavenly Jerusalem and to ten thousands of angels, 23to a solemn congregation and kehile of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to Hashem (are you (PL) come), the judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous (ones) made perfect, 24and to Yehoshua the mediator of the new agreement (covenant new), and to the blood of sprinkling, which speaks better things than Abel's (blood). 25beware then yourselves, not to scorn the One, Who speaks. because if those are not saved become, who did scorn the One, who has spoken on the earth, on how much less will we (saved be), who will ourselves turn away of Him, who (speaks) from heaven, 26Whose voice has once made shake the earth; and now has He promised has, saying:
again will I make shake not only the earth,
but also the heaven.
(Haggai 2, 6)
27and the word again (quote unquote) makes clear the change (removal) of things, which shake as things created, so that the (ones), which shake not, should remain. 28therefore, because we receive a kingdom, which can not shaken be, let us have thankfulness, by which we shall worship well pleasing to Hashem with reverence and with fear; 29because our G-d is a consuming fire.
