chapter thirteen
1and there were been in Antioch, in the very kehile, prophets and teachers, Bar-Nabba and Simon, who was called Niger, and Lucius the (one) from Cyrene and Menachem, who was brought up become together with Herod the Tetrarch, and Saul. 2and while they had ministered to Hashem and fasted, did the Spirit the Holy say: separate for me up Barnabas and Saul to the work, for which I have them called. 3then, after fasting and prayer do, did they lay on the hands upon them, and them sent away.
4and being sent out through the Spirit the Holy, did they go down to Seleucia, and from there did they themselves sail away to Cyprus. 5and when they did come/arrive in Salamis, did they announce Hashem's word in the Jewish synagogues; and did also have John as an aid. 6and when they have passed through the whole island of till Paphos, did they find a certain man, a sorcerer, a Jewish person, a false prophet, with the name Bar Yehoshua, 7who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. the this one had called to himself Barnabas and Saul and urgently requested to hear Hashem's word. 8but Elymas, the sorcerer (because that is the Arabic Greek interpretation of his name), has self them oppose, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith (Derech Hashem). 9Saul however, who is called also Paul, filled with the Spirit the Holy, did sharply look upon him, 10and said: you (SG), who are full with every deceit and vileness, you (SG) son of the devil, enemy of every righteousness, (question) will you not cease to distort the right ways of the L-rd (Hashem)? 11and now there see, the hand of the L-rd is upon you (SG), and you (SG) you will be blind, you will not see the sun until on a time. and in an eye blink did upon him fell a dimness and a darkness, and he is walking about and did seek (such, who) shall him lead by the hand. 12and then, when the proconsul did seen what did happen, did he believe, astounded over the teaching of the L-rd.
13and Paul and his companions have self sail away from Paphos and did come to Perga in Pamphylia, and John has himself separate from them and returned to Jerusalem. 14they however did further go from Perga, and did come to Antioch in (land) Pisidia; and Sabbath did they enter in/go in in the synagogue and have self sat down. 15and after reading the Torah and the prophets, did the Gaboyem of the synagogue send to them, so to say: brothers, if you (PL) have something a word of exhortation for the crowd, say so. 16and Paul has himself stand up and made a sign with the hand, and said: men of Israel, and you (PL), who have fear before Hashem, hear! 17the G-d of the this nation Israel did choose our fathers and this nation he raised up while they have themselves sojourned in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm them led out from there. 18and almost forty years long did he them carry in the wilderness. 19and overthrew seven nations in the land Canaan, did he them make inherit this land of theirs, about four hundred and fifty years long. 20and then to them gave judges until Samuel the prophet. 21and from then on did they demand a king, and Hashem did them give Saul, the son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, in the course of forty years. 22and when he did him depose, did he them raise up David for a king, about whom he did witness said: I have found David, the son of Yishai, a man after my heart, who will do every desire of Mine. 23from this very one's seed, according to a promise, did Hashem bring to Israel a Redeemer—Yehoshua (Yeshayah 11, 1; Zecharyah 6, 11-12; Ezra 3, 2.), 24who before his coming did John proclaim a mikveh of repentance to the entire nation Israel. 25and when John had kept at the finish of his course, did he say: what you (PL) think I am, that am I not; but see, there comes after me the one, whom I am not worthy to untie the sandals from his feet. 26brothers, children of Abraham's lineage and those, among you (PL), who have fear before Hashem, to us is this word of the this one salvation sent become. 27because the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders, condemning him, whom they have not recognized, have fulfilled the words of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath. 28and although they have not found any death guilt in him, did they yet demand from Pilate, that he shall killed become. 29and when they did carry out all, which stands written about him, did they him take down from the tree and him laid in a tomb. 30Hashem however did him rouse from the dead; 31and he has himself appeared in the time of a many days to the (ones), who had gone up together with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are now his witness to the nation. 32and we declare to you the Good News, that the promise, which is given become to the fathers, 33the these (promise) did Hashem fulfill to us, their children, thereby which he did rouse Yehoshua, as it stands also written in the second (chapter) Psalms: you (SG) are my Son, I have you today begotten. 34and when he did him rouse from the dead, so that he shall self more not turn to decay, did he so say:
I will you (PL) give the holy and sure mercies of David.
(Yeshayah 55, 3)
35therefore says he also in an other place:
you (SG) you will not give your Hasid to see corruption.
(Psalms 16, 10)
36because David, after the as he did serve his generation according to Hashem's counsel, did fall asleep, and is placed become to his fathers and did see corruption; 37he however, whom Hashem had rouse, did not see any corruption. 38therefore shall you (PL) know be, brothers, that through the this very (one) is you (PL) announced the forgiveness of sin; 39and everyone, who believes in him, becomes justified from all things, from which you (PL) were not able to justified become through law of Moses. 40take then care, that there shall not come upon you (PL) that, which is said been and the prophets:
41see, you (PL) who scorned, and wonder yourselves and perish,
because I do a work in your (PL) days,
a work, which you (PL) will not believe,
when someone will it (to) you (PL) tell.
(Habakuk 1, 5)
42and while they did go out (from synagogue), have they them asked, that the coming Sabbath should the same words spoken to be to them. 43and when kahal is self disperse, did a many of the Jews and of the devoted proselytes follow Paul and Bar-Nabba, who did speak to them and them exhort was to remain in the grace of Hashem. 44and the next Sabbath is almost the entire city itself come together, to hear Hashem's word. 45and when the (unbelieving) Judaeans did see the crowds of people, did they full become with envy and did speak against that, which Paul had said, and did blaspheme. 46and speaking openly with boldness, did Paul and Bar-Nabba say: it was necessary, that to you (PL) shall before all spoken to be Hashem's word; but because you (PL) repudiate it and hold self not for worthy of the eternal life, look, turn we ourselves to the nations (of the world). 47because thus did us the L-rd command:
I have you set for a light to the nations,
that you (SG) shall be a salvation unto to the end of the earth.
(Yeshayah 49, 6)
48and as the nations (of the world) did this hear, did they self rejoiced and honor held the word of the L-rd; and as many as it are was appointed to the eternal life as much have believed. 49and the word of the L-rd has itself spread over entire land. 50the Judaeans however did stir up the devoted and eminent women and the prominent people of the city, and have rouse a persecution upon Paul and Barnabas, and them chased out from their borders. 51and they did shake off the dust from their feet against them, and did go away to Iconium. 52and the disciples are become full with joy and with the Spirit the Holy.
