chapter eight
1and we let you (PL) know, brothers, the grace of Hashem, which was given in the kehiles of Macedonia; 2that in a great trial of troubles, did the abundance of their joy and their depth of poverty abounded to a wealth of their liberality. 3because according to their powers, yes, I say witness, over their powers, have they donated was, 4begging us with much entreaty for the privilege and sharing of the ministry for the benefit the saints; 5and not as we had hoped, but themselves alone have they first of all given to the L-rd, and to us by Hashem's will, 6that we have exhort did Titus, like he had before begun, so shall he also complete in you (PL) also the this grace (privilege). 7yes, as you (PL) had in all an abundance, in faith and in word and in knowledge and in all zeal and in your love to us, so shall you (PL) have a abundance even in the this grace (privilege). 8I say it not as a directive, but I test out through the zeal of others also the genuineness of your love. 9because you (PL) know the grace of our L-rd Yehoshua the Moshiach, that although he was rich, yet for your sake is he become poor, so that through his poverty shall you (PL) to be rich. 10and in the this give I my judgment; because this is of benefit (appropriate) for you (PL), who have with a year back began not only to do but also to desire. 11now however complete also doing; that just as you (PL) had had the desire to will (it), so shall also be the completion of the (action), which you (PL) had. 12because if the good will is present, is it accepted according to that, how much one has, not according to that, what he has not. 13for (I say) it not, so that another should have a relief and you (PL) shall have pressure, but out of equality: 14in the present time shall your abundance be for their deficiency, so that also their abundance shall be for your deficiency, so, that it shall be equality; 15as it stands written: the one, who had much (gathered), did not have superfluous, and the one, who has few (gathered) has not had need. (Exodus 16, 18)
16However baruch Hashem, Who gives the same care in Titus's heart for for your sake. 17because he has indeed received our appeal; but being very zealous, is he willingly going to you (PL). 18and we are sending with with him the brother, whose praise in the Good News (goes) over all kehiles; 19not only this, but he is even chosen been of the kehiles as our traveling companion in reference to the this grace (privilege), which is by us administered to the glory of the L-rd Himself, and to our encouragement, 20avoiding the these, that anyone shall not speak any evil on us which relates to the this rich gift, which is by us administered; 21because we strive you (to do) good not only for the L-rd, but also for men. 22and have sending with them our brother, whom we have often put to the test in a many things, that he is diligent, now however more diligent on account of his great confidence in you (PL). 23and concerning Titus, is he my chaver and co-worker among you (PL); and concerning our brothers, are they Shlichim of kehiles, Moshiach's glory. 24show then them out for the kehiles the proof of your love, and of our boasting about you (PL).
