Judgment on False Teachers

Warnings and Exhortations

17But you, beloved, must remember the words previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18#1 Tim 4.1; 2 Pet 2.1for they said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, indulging their own ungodly lusts.” 19It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions. 20#Eph 6.18; Col 2.7But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; 21#Titus 2.13; 2 Pet 3.12keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to#1.21 21 Gk Christ to eternal life. 22And have mercy on some who are wavering; 23#Am 4.11; Zech 3.2–5save others by snatching them out of the fire; and have mercy on still others with fear, hating even the tunic defiled by their bodies.#1.23 23 Gk by the flesh
