Psalm 64
The Righteous Will Be Glad in Yahweh
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
1Hear my voice, O God, in my #64:1 Or concerncomplaint;
Guard my life from dread of the enemy.
2Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers,
From the tumult of the workers of iniquity,
3Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword.
They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,
4To shoot #64:4 Lit infrom places of hiding at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.
5They #64:5 Lit make firmhold fast to themselves an evil purpose;
They #64:5 Lit recounttalk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who can see them?”
6They searched out unrighteousness, saying,
“We have completed a diligent search”;
For the #64:6 Or inward partinward thought of a man and his heart are #64:6 Or unsearchabledeep.
7¶But God #64:7 Or shotwill shoot them with an arrow;
Suddenly they will be wounded.
8So #64:8 Or they make their tongue a stumbling for themselvesthey will cause their own tongue to turn against them;
All who see them will shake their head.
9Then all men #64:9 Or fearedwill fear,
And they #64:9 Or declaredwill declare the work of God,
And #64:9 Or consideredwill consider #64:9 Lit His workwhat He has done.
10The righteous man will be glad in Yahweh and will take refuge in Him;
And all the upright in heart will boast.
