Yahweh Makes Me Abide in Safety

1Answer me when I call, O God #4:1 Who maintains my rightof my righteousness!
You have #4:1 Lit made room forrelieved me in my distress;
Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
2¶O sons of men, how long will my glory become a reproach?
How long will you love what is worthless and seek falsehood? #4:2 Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical InterludeSelah.
3But know that Yahweh has #4:3 Or dealt wonderfully withset apart the holy one for Himself;
Yahweh hears when I call to Him.
4¶#4:4 With anger or fearTremble, #4:4 Or butand do not sin;
# 4:4 Lit Speak Ponder in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
5Offer #4:5 Or righteous sacrificesthe sacrifices of righteousness,
And trust in Yahweh.
6¶Many are saying, “Who will show us good?”
Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O Yahweh!
7You have put gladness in my heart,
More than when their grain and new wine abound.
8In peace I will #4:8 Or at the same timeboth lie down and sleep,
For You alone, O Yahweh, make me to abide in safety.
