About John's second letter
John who wrote this letter was the apostle John. He also wrote the Gospel of John and the letters 1 John and 3 John.
John calls himself a leader of the church. He had authority over several churches. He was an old man and he called the Christians ‘my little children’. He wrote his letters for people to read aloud in church meetings. He called the churches that he was writing to, ‘a special lady and her children’. He is warning these churches that they should not accept false teachers. Teachers that are like this do not teach the true message of Jesus.
