Tearing your clothes in sorrow is not enough— tear open your hearts!” Come back to YAHWEH your God, for he is gracious to welcome you home and compassionate to embrace you. YAHWEH is slow to anger and so rich in extravagant love for you. He is always ready to forgive and cancel judgment. Who knows if he will not turn around and show pity, leaving behind a blessing. Then you can bring offerings of grain and wine to be presented to YAHWEH your God.

God is a God of restoration; He can make everything new again by His presence. Whatever we think we may have lost—our dreams, our health, our relationships, our innocence, our economy, our peace—God is able to restore us many times over!
Joel’s prophetic work aimed to bring warning of God’s coming judgment over Israel. The book points towards a coming “day of the Lord” when God will judge all the earth. God invites his people to repent and return to Him, reminding them He is “gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love” (Joel 2:13).

In this reading plan, we will look at the truth that all love comes from God, how His steadfast love transforms us into His image, and how Jesus helps each of His followers obey His commandments to love God and neighbor.
