Deliverance in Battle

1May the Lord answer you in a day of trouble; # 20:1 Ps 50:15; 77:2; 102:2
may the name of Jacob’s God protect you. # 20:1 Ps 46:7,11
2May he send you help from the sanctuary
and sustain you from Zion. # 20:2 Ps 3:4; 110:2; 128:5
3May he remember all your offerings
and accept your burnt offering. # 20:3 Ps 119:108 Selah
4May he give you what your heart desires # 20:4 Ps 21:2; 145:19
and fulfill your whole purpose. # 20:4 Ps 138:8
5Let us shout for joy at your victory # 20:5 Ps 21:1
and lift the banner in the name of our God. # 20:5 Is 13:2
May the Lord fulfill all your requests. # 20:5 Ps 21:2; 1Pt 3:12
6Now I know that the Lord gives victory to his anointed; # 20:6 Ps 18:50
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with mighty victories from his right hand. # 20:6 Ps 44:3; 98:1; 118:15
7Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses,
but we take pride in the name of the Lord our God. # 20:7 Ps 33:17; Is 31:1
8They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand firm. # 20:8 Is 2:11,17; Mc 7:8
9 Lord, give victory to the king! # 20:9 Ps 18:50
May he # 20:9 Or Lord, save. May the king answer us on the day that we call.
