God’s Faithfulness to His People
1Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name;
proclaim his deeds among the peoples. # 105:1 Ps 9:11; Is 12:4
2Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell about all his wondrous works! # 105:2 Ps 96:3
3Boast in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. # 105:3 Ps 33:21
4Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always. # 105:4 Ps 27:8; 63:2
5Remember the wondrous works he has done,
his wonders, and the judgments he has pronounced, # 105:5 Lit judgments of his mouth,# 105:5 Ps 77:11; 119:13
6you offspring of Abraham his servant,

7He is the Lord our God;
his judgments govern the whole earth. # 105:7 Is 26:9
8He remembers his covenant forever,
the promise he ordained

9the covenant he made with Abraham,

10and confirmed to Jacob as a decree

11“I will give the land of Canaan to you

12When they were few in number,
very few indeed,
and resident aliens in Canaan, # 105:12 Gn 34:30; Dt 7:7
13wandering from nation to nation
and from one kingdom to another, # 105:13 Dt 26:5
14he allowed no one to oppress them;
he rebuked kings on their behalf: # 105:14 Gn 12:17; 20:3,7
15“Do not touch my anointed ones, # 105:15 Gn 20:6–7; 26:11

16He called down famine against the land

17He had sent a man ahead of them —

18They hurt his feet with shackles;

19Until the time his prediction came true,
the word of the Lord tested him. # 105:19 Gn 40:20–21
20The king sent for him and released him;

21He made him master of his household,

23Then Israel went to Egypt;

26He sent Moses his servant,

27They performed his miraculous signs among them

28He sent darkness, and it became dark —

29He turned their water into blood

30Their land was overrun with frogs,

32He gave them hail for rain,

33He struck their vines and fig trees

34He spoke, and locusts came —
young locusts without number.
35They devoured all the vegetation in their land

36He struck all the firstborn in their land,

37Then he brought Israel out with silver and gold,

38Egypt was glad when they left,

39He spread a cloud as a covering

40They asked, and he brought quail

41He opened a rock, and water gushed out;

42For he remembered his holy promise
to Abraham his servant. # 105:42 Ex 2:24
43He brought his people out with rejoicing,
his chosen ones with shouts of joy. # 105:43 Ex 15:1; Ps 106:12
44He gave them the lands of the nations,
and they inherited
what other peoples had worked for. # 105:44 Jos 24:13; Ps 78:55
45All this happened
so that they might keep his statutes
and obey his instructions. # 105:45 Dt 4:1,40; Ps 78:7
