Proverbs 8:30-33

Life is short, so it’s important to make every day count. As it relates to marriage. how might you intentionally create opportunities that demonstrate love for your spouse in clear, practical ways? What type of memories would you like to make? What temporal things are you willing to sacrifice to prioritize your love for God and your mate as you journey toward eternity? How can you and your husband or wife add richness to your lives together?

Have you ever been relying on your smartphone’s GPS for directions when you suddenly lost cell service? That can be a scary predicament. Without directions, how will you know where you are going? This week let’s dig into Proverbs to learn what wisdom would teach us about the paths we travel in life.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Explore how the Trinity was present at creation, and Jesus’ unique role as the Logos, the incarnate Word. The biblical teaching of creation also provides a basis for truth, morality, science, and a life of meaning and hope. This devotional will encourage you and deepen your faith.

Discipleship works against fear. As we obey God’s commands, we entrust ourselves to him. Like the students attending the schools founded by D. L. Moody in Northfield, MA, God’s people “are encouraged to test the meaning and value of the Bible’s teachings experimentally, by acting upon them, and living them out.” As we “test experimentally” the word of God, we will find that we will have fewer and fewer reasons to be afraid.
