2 Samuel 7:15-17

Jesus had departed for his final entry into Jerusalem. Death loomed less than two weeks away. In His characteristic and radical unselfishness, Jesus stopped for a final man before reaching Jerusalem. This would be the last healing He would perform before His final entry into the city to face the cross. In this reading pal, we'll take a deeper look at the story of the Bartimaeus and his healing.

"Who matters to?" is a question we all must answer at some point. However, the answer lies within another question, so when this world challenges us to answer, God already has an answer waiting.

 Personal happiness and satisfaction seem to be the highest goal in the world we live in today. In such a society the nature of commitment becomes warped. In this devotional we look at the importance the Bible has placed on commitment and why we need to apply it in our lives.  

The vocations represented in the characters of Christmas can teach us a lot about God and how our work is a means of co-laboring with “the newborn King.” In this four-day plan, we’ll look at the vocations of John the Baptist, Caesar Augustus, Matthew, and the famed Star of Bethlehem to draw out applications for our own work today.
