For the queen’s behavior will become known to all women, so that they will despise their husbands in their eyes, when they report, ‘King Ahasuerus commanded Queen Vashti to be brought in before him, but she did not come.’ This very day the noble ladies of Persia and Media will say to all the king’s officials that they have heard of the behavior of the queen. Thus there will be excessive contempt and wrath. If it pleases the king, let a royal decree go out from him, and let it be recorded in the laws of the Persians and the Medes, so that it will not be altered, that Vashti shall come no more before King Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal position to another who is better than she. When the king’s decree which he will make is proclaimed throughout all his empire (for it is great), all wives will honor their husbands, both great and small.”

If you are a woman in the workplace, you may be wrestling with a number of challenges, from finding your voice as a leader and dealing with workplace discrimination, to managing parenthood and establishing a healthy rhythm of work and rest. What biblical wisdom can women draw from to meet today’s workplace challenges?
Esther did not have a typical queen's backstory. She was an orphan, living in a strange land with her kind cousin Mordecai. The world overlooked her potential. But God did not. Esther became queen and overcame unbelievable circumstances all because of a single truth; a truth that applies to us as well: God has chosen us for this very moment. Begin discovering today how to live out your unique calling.
Amid fearful times under a tyrannical monarchy, Esther and Mordecai could not see how every detail of God’s redemptive plan would unfold for the Jewish people. Yet, they trusted in the One whose providential purposes could not be stopped, even by the most powerful rulers of their day. This 7-day study on the book of Esther explores how our heavenly King works all things for the good of His people.
