Being Consumed Daily

God desires to consume you with His fire so that His fire can ignite, burn, purify, cleanse, refine, and do deep works on the inside of you. Paul told Timothy to stir that fire up within and fan those flames on the inside. Timothy had hands laid on him to receive it, and Paul was now reminding him to stir up what was already imparted into him. You can’t stop just getting your hands laid on you. The laying of hands is the impartation that takes place, but after that comes the daily application in. Every day that you lay down sin, you release your pride to God, you receive His power to overcome, you allow your mind to be renewed by the word of God, and you reposition yourself to be a living sacrifice is another day you walk in the power, freedom, and salvation that Jesus died for.

5 Daily Practices to Live Consumed by God

1. Repent of all sin, areas of weakness, and shortcomings

2. Release all pride, desires of the flesh, and your will

3. Receive God’s power to overcome temptation by obeying the convicting power of the Holy Spirit

4. Renew your mind to God’s word and allow it to wash over and cleanse you

5. Reposition your body as a living sacrifice, giving God your eyes, your ears, your mouth, your hands, your feet, and your strength as an offering to glorify and please Him

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to live a life that You fully consume. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to ignite my life with the fire of God, a fire that will never burn out. I thank you that as I pursue a life lived fully dedicated to you, I will experience freedom in Christ. I pray that I would yield to the convicting and convincing power of the Holy Spirit and that others around me would be set ablaze because of the fruit of my own personal relationship with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
