Forgiveness Is Freedom - for Everyone! Пример
“I Forgive You, But I Don’t Want You To Be Blessed!”
Now let’s be honest. There might be some of you who read Janie’s story and thought, “I don’t want the person who hurt me to be forgiven or get saved! That’s the last person I want to get blessed!”
I understand, I really do. But all I can say to that is, if you’re thinking that way, quit it! That’s your flesh, pure and simple, not your spirit, and there’s no freedom there — for them or for you.
Here’s the thing: you and I have been forgiven much. The Bible says that it is required of us then, as the forgiven, to forgive. Colossians 3:13 says, “Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” (TLB).
Matthew 6 puts it another way in the Lord’s prayer, which I’m sure you’re familiar with: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” (vv. 9–12). You could say, “The way you forgive is the same way you will be forgiven.”
Would you like to be forgiven when you’ve made a mistake? Then forgive others when they make a mistake. Would you like to be forgiven quickly? Then forgive quickly. Would you like to be forgiven without conditions? Then forgive without conditions. The Bible says that you will be forgiven the same way that you forgive. AS you deal mercy to others, mercy will be dealt to you.
I don’t know about you but I want all the mercy I can get. That requires that I give mercy to others.
