Jesus Loves Me: Experiencing God’s Heart for Kids عينة
Immeasurable Worth
Jesus highlighted the value of a child, and in doing so He raised everyone’s stature. When we welcome a child, we welcome Jesus, and this passage says that when we welcome Jesus, we welcome the Father Himself. Jesus crushes our motive for classifying people when he makes the profound statement, “For it is the one who is least among you who is the greatest.”
We were all fashioned in God’s image with immeasurable worth. God designed each of us—from the youngest to the oldest—after His image. What gives us more dignity than that? Perhaps that is why Jesus detested the competition the disciples were having about who was greatest. Jesus values the person, not their status.
Do we see the child eating out of the trash and the multimillionaire businessman as God sees them? Do we lift one high on a pedestal and push one down to minimal value? Or do we view them through the eyes of God? God gave His Son for both the poor and the wealthy, the young and the old. All people are uniquely designed to bring Him glory.
Pray and ask God to open your eyes to see children in poverty as He sees them. He may call you to help children in your community or children around the world.
