Put On Christعينة
Put On Christ.
“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;” Colossians 3:12 KJV
Put on Christ and let God lead your heart. Put on the humility of God and let Christ lead you. Put on Christ and let His Word lead every aspect of your life
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for the phrase, “put on” used in Colossians 3:12 KJV is, ‘endyō’ (G1746) which means, “to sink into (clothing), to clothe one's self.” Sink yourself into the gentleness of Christ. Sink and clothe yourself with His Word.
The New International Version expounds upon Colossians 3:12 NIV in the following manner,
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
As God’s chosen people, choose to clothe yourself with Christ’s way of doing things.
Choose to clothe yourself with His patience. Choose to follow Christ and let His Way lead every aspect of your life.
The New Living Translation expounds upon Colossians 3:12 NLT in the following manner,
“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
May your heart be filled with the tender mercies of God. May you clothe yourself with His patience. May you clothe yourself with His principles and precepts. May His Word shape the framework of your heart and character.
The Amplified Version expounds upon Colossians 3:12 AMPC in the following manner,
“Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].”
As the Message Bible puts it,
“So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered…” Colossians 3:12 MSG.
When challenges and difficulties arise, choose to dress yourself with compassion, humility, patience, and quiet strength. Choose to be even-tempered and let Christ lead your response in every season.
